Good points. I think one important mindset to cultivate is that our value as a person, should be measured based on our personally-held moral values and beliefs. Our value should be based more on what type of person we are, in that sense, instead of how productive we are in our lives.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I like to believe we have intrinsic value. I read a fascinating book by Henri Nouwen called Adam many years ago. Adam could not walk, talk, dress himself, etc. but he emanated a sense of peace that drew people towards God. It was an incredible book that made me think as humans we all have value and reflect God.

You're welcome.

Yeah it's important that we recognize our value and also apply it towards good, altruistic acts.

Hi Raveen, but how much creadance should we deploy for the myriad of differences within the human species. Maybe one set of moral activities can't be judged against another. For me that all sounds like an unfair fight.

Hi. In that sense, we should focus on our own moral values, and not compare or worry about others' moral values and activities. We're judging and valuing ourselves....so for this, other people shouldn't be a factor.

Hi there right backache, how lovely to have a friendly chat about moral values...beautiful way to start the weekend, but for the minute I've got to go to the hole in the wall for dosh, so I can pay the man who's delivering my new folding electric bike. And the moral of that tale is that I'm also giving him a £30 tip. Maybe £40 if the bank let's me. Xx
